Branded Cities

These three animations were commissioned to form the backdrop of The Future Laboratory’s presentation at SXSW 2018, examining potential urban futures and the role corporations and governments could play in shaping the structure and functioning of cities.

The Future Laboratory provides trends intelligence, strategic research, and innovation strategies to major brands and companies worldwide.

The animations visualised the feel of three distinct urban environments; from branded, pluralistic, and vibrant spaces, to monopolistic and commercial dystopias. Inferstudio designed the three urban environments, modeled and rendered the scenes, edited the animations and created the accompanying soundscapes. We also provided multilayered stills from each animation to be used on The Future Laboratory’s Branded Cities project page.
